The
goal of Kiefer’s Kids is to connect with area
middle school and high school kids. He wants them
to get involved in their community and to make them
realize that their voices matter to society and
that society depends on them to be the leaders of
tomorrow. If they are more involved they will take
better care of their city and pride in their neighborhood.
In
order to achieve this goal, Joe Kiefer is planning
on meeting with groups of area kids to discuss their
views and opinions. This will hopefully open up
issues that Kiefer didn’t realize existed
and therefore he can work on improving.
Joe Kiefer commits a large amount
of time to helping the youth of our community. If
Kiefer gets our children more involved and interested
in their community, he can build a society that
will surpass all great expectations.
Kiefer wants to give kids a place
to hang out without the pressures of drugs and alcohol
knocking them down. Kiefer is helping to rebuild
a new Swonder Ice Rink. The new ice rink will be
able to contain twice the capacity as the old building.
Swonder Ice Rink will be a place for kids to enjoy
themselves and be safe.
Kiefer
understands the importance of sports in a child’s
life. Sports create great skills that can be carried
throughout life. This is one reason that Kiefer
worked to bring a new soccer complex to Evansville
and to increase budgets for youth athletic programs
and youth leadership programs. Kiefer is in full
support of the University of Evansville to hold
on to their Division 1 status.
Education is the most important
aspect of our child’s life. Evansville/Vanderburgh
School Corporation alone is home to 2 universities,
1 college, 5 high schools, 10 middle schools, and
20 elementary schools. Joe Kiefer wants to help
our schools grow to their fullest potential. He
backed the University of Southern Indiana on their
quest for an Engineering program. USI is now in
the process of building a facility for an Engineering
program.
